Projects

Following is a summary of just some of the projects that L.B. Schmidt & Associates, LLC (LBS&A) has completed for its clients:

Manufacturing trade association

Conducted major strategic review of the organization on both an external and internal basis. The review included key stakeholder interviews throughout the U.S. and Canada. A 100+ page Strategic Review document was provided to the client and LBS&A led the association's Board of Directors in a two-day strategic planning exercise which resulted in the identification of key issues, revisions to the Mission Statement and the establishment of 36 goals to be implemented over the next five years.

Consumer products trade association

Wrote an article for the organization's quarterly membership magazine on plastics recycling. The article included an overview of current conditions facing the marketplace as well as an analysis of legislative issues.

Large European manufacturer

Developed detailed analysis of North American market and legislative climate with recommendations for initial new technology introduction efforts on a targeted state-by-state targeted basis.

Multi-national consumer products company

Developed internal position papers and media talking points on various legislative issues. Documents will be used by client as it addresses various legislative proposals.

Consumer products trade association

Developed extensive document on plastics recycling for major consumer products trade association. The document will be used by the association's members on a local basis throughout the United States.

Manufacturing trade association

Reviewed staff compensation system and ongoing issues. Provided recommendations to the organization's President/CEO on both a short-term and long-term basis.

State trade association

Developed an analysis of recycling systems in both California and Canada and provided recommendations on proposed legislation.

Privately held firm

Developed an analysis of regional recycling issues. The analysis was used by the client as part of its internal strategic planning process.

State trade association

Developed a business plan for a new state trade association. The business plan covered several areas including administration, marketing/promotion, and legislative representation. LBS&A also drafted a 50 page grant proposal for the organization. Project required extensive research and writing.

Municipal airport board

LBS&A conducted an extensive market feasibility study for a regional airport board. The 260+ page study included demographic information on a 24 county region which included two metropolitan statistical areas and a major military base. The study examined travel patterns, employment data, regional economic information and evaluated airports in similar markets in six states.

National professional certification society

LBS&A was selected to develop an organizational governance best practices session for the Board of Directors of a national professional certification society (88,000+ certified members). At the beginning of the project, the Board was in turmoil; LBS&A participated in numerous teleconferences with the Board Chairperson prior to providing an extensive PowerPoint presentation which covered all facets of organizational management along with several recommendations to take the society forward.

International food company

L.B. Schmidt & Associates, LLC has just completed a research project related to packaging regulations in California, Hawaii and Maine for an international food company. The project included an overview of existing regulations which will impact the introduction of one of the company's new products in each of the three states, along with recommendations as to how the company can achieve compliance with the regulations in each state.
